The minute I heard my first love story, I started looking for you, not knowing how blind that was. Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere. They’re in each other all along.

This classy, Malaysian couple chose Seoul as the destination for their pre-wedding shoot. The city’s vibrant metropolis of ultra modern and historical architecture, which was important for them to be prominent in some of their photos, made it the perfect location for Blake and Ruth’s modern urban vibe they were looking for. The people of Seoul are trendy, following the latest fashion and cosmetics movements, and so Blake and Ruth’s stylish choice of wardrobe for our session fitted right in. I decided to capture the essence of this couple as they moved through the lively city from one location to the next. Blake and Ruth are as much FUN as what they are sophisticated!! Their zest and love for life is as great as their love for one another! Everything this couple does together is next level, whether it’s sharing a tender moment, a joke, conversation, taking a stroll or just goofing off!

It was time for a wardrobe change and to move onto the next stop on our carefully planned route. Ruth loves Korean food, and so Blake lead us to a chicken and beer restaurant they wanted to try. I managed to get some fun shots in the taxi on the way over of them being their quirky selves.

Blake lives and works in Seoul, while Ruth is located in Malaysia for now, and so Blake is more accustomed to the Korean traditions of which Somaek is one. It’s a mixture of Soju (a distilled clear alcoholic beverage) and beer (Maekju). Koreans have a perfect ratio of soju to beer and Ruth was making it too strong, so Blake showed her the correct way. Needless to say there were a lot of giggles and laughs throughout their lunch.

A stroll through the city was a great end to a delicious lunch. This was the perfect opportunity to document the urban part of the shoot. I followed them along their way as they explored Seoul, capturing (once again) the closeness that they share. Always touching and holding hands.

While waiting for the sun to set for the final part of the shoot, and also to re-group and enjoy something to drink, we stopped in at a coffee shop along the way called Onion,Which was a very old Korean house restored only just enough to cater for coffee and cakes.

Seoul Forest set the scene for the romantic and final part of the session. The sunset was perfect through the trees, kissing everything in its path, including Ruth’s bare shoulders peeking out from the pretty yellow dress she chose to end off the shoot. Blake dressed in a crisp blue shirt, sporting the beautiful watch Ruth got for him as a pre-wedding gift, complemented his lovely bride-to-be perfectly. It was easy to capture the romance and intimacy between them, it came naturally and effortlessly…

Blake and Ruth, if there was ever the perfect couple, you guys are it. I had a blast taking your pictures!

Be happy <3
